Summer Meeting Space - Room 207
Starting Sunday, July 6, and throughout July and August, we’ll meet in Room 207 (with A/C!) instead of the James Chapel. Need directions? Watch this video for elevator access and this one for stairs.
Bowery Women’s Dinner - aUGUST 2
Sign up to serve a meal at the Bowery Women's Center. On the first Saturday of each month, we are looking for one person to plan the meal (for 15-20 people), and a few others to join in preparing the food. You'll arrive around 3:30 to begin preparing, and dinner is served at 6pm. EPC reimburses the costs of the meal. Consider if you (and your HFG / friends) would come serve one month! Learn more about this opportunity.
VBS Decorating Event - aUGUST 9
Join us as we partner with Uptown Community Church for a time of decorating, preparing materials, and enjoying fellowship as we get ready for VBS. This is a wonderful opportunity to connect with members of Uptown Community Church and our own congregation as we serve together. Let’s work together to create a fun and welcoming environment for the kids! Lunch provided. Location: Uptown Community Church. If you’re planning to attend, please register so we can prepare accordingly.

Reformed Theology with Scott
Each year we invite the people of our church to join nominees for elder and Mercy Team as they go through theological training (5 meetings in the fall). This annual training is a hidden gem of EPC. If you've ever wondered what theology has to do with everyday life, or been stumped by a hard question from a kid, e.g., we recommend this class. The recommended summer reading is the Westminster Confession of Faith (WCF). The WCF has 33 very short, but dense chapters. Perhaps aim to read a chapter every two days. If you'd like us to contact you in August with the schedule and next steps, email office@emmanuelnyc.org. We'll also send you reflection questions to guide you as you read the WCF. Starting in September we will meet once a month for dinner and discussion. All are welcome.
Ghana School Fund Raising Effort - Matching Grant
On Sunday 6/8 we heard updates about the school in Ghana Emmanuel partners with. The next major project for them is to buy a school bus, which will be strategic for more regular attendance and making it possible for more families to send their children to the school. The cost of the bus and expenses can be as high as $40k. The session of Emmanuel wants to help our church play a major role in helping make this happen, so has created a $12.5k matching grant for all money given by Emmanuel people. Our goal is to provide $25k of the funding, which will be enough for them to take the next step and buy the bus. You can give here.
Save the Date: 25th anniversary celebration
We’ll be celebrating our 25th anniversary the weekend of October 25-26. Save the date and keep an eye out for coming details. If you’d like to help with planning, let us know.
